Classicco is an independent music education practice operated by Melanie Sohajova, based in France. Melanie is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

• Your email address, when you subscribe to the newsletter or join the academy waiting list.

• Your name, email address and anything you choose to write when you contact Classicco by email or book a free musical conversation.

• Scheduling details you provide when booking through Calendly, such as your name, email address, time zone and any answers you give to the booking questions.

• Basic technical information created automatically when any website is visited, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is handled by the hosting and infrastructure providers listed below as part of delivering and securing the site.

The website does not run advertising trackers, marketing pixels or an analytics product, and it does not ask you to create an account. No special-category data (such as health or political information) is requested, and please do not send it.

• To reply to your enquiries and arrange conversations or lessons.

• To manage newsletter subscriptions and send occasional letters.

• To let waiting-list members know when the academy opens and how it works.

• To provide the teaching and services you have asked for.

• To keep the website working securely and to improve the site and educational materials where appropriate.

Your information is never sold, rented or used for advertising by third parties.

• Consent — for newsletter and waiting-list emails. You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or writing to the address above.

• Performance of a contract — to arrange and deliver lessons or programmes you have booked, and to handle related correspondence.

• Legitimate interests — to answer enquiries, keep basic records of correspondence, and maintain the security and proper functioning of the website.

• Legal obligations — where records must be kept for tax, accounting or other legal requirements.

Classicco welcomes students from many countries. If you write from outside France, your information will be processed in France and in other countries where the service providers below operate, including the United States. This means your information may be handled outside your own country and under different laws.

Where personal data of people in the EU or the UK is transferred outside those areas, the transfer relies on the safeguards offered by the provider, typically the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved mechanism, together with technical measures such as encryption in transit.

These are the services actually used by this website today:

• Lovable — the platform on which the website is built, hosted and published.

• Supabase — the database provider behind Lovable's connected backend, where newsletter and waiting-list email addresses are stored.

• Proton Mail — the email provider used for correspondence sent to and from the address above.

• Calendly — used to schedule free musical conversations. The booking calendar is embedded on the Start here page, so when you open that page your browser connects directly to Calendly, which receives your IP address and browser information and may set its own cookies. When you complete a booking, Calendly receives the details you enter and processes them under its own privacy policy.

• Fonts — the typefaces used on this site are hosted on Classicco's own website. They are not loaded from Google's servers, so no font request sends your IP address to a third party.

• YouTube and Instagram — linked from the website. Following those links takes you to those platforms, where their own privacy policies apply. No videos or feeds are embedded on this site, so they do not receive data unless you click through.

These providers act as processors or independent controllers for their own services, and each is used only for the purpose described.

Newsletter letters are occasional and concern listening, practice and understanding classical music. Waiting-list emails concern the academy and its launch. Both are sent only to people who asked for them.

You can stop receiving them at any time by replying to any message with “unsubscribe”, or by writing to classiccowithmelanie@protonmail.com. Your address is then removed from the list. Your email address is not shared with other subscribers or used for third-party marketing.

• Newsletter and waiting-list addresses: kept until you unsubscribe, and deleted within 30 days of an unsubscribe request. Addresses that have received no engagement for three years are reviewed and removed.

• Waiting-list entries for a programme that has launched or been cancelled: kept for up to 12 months afterwards, unless you have also subscribed to the newsletter.

• Enquiry and booking correspondence: kept for up to 24 months after our last exchange, so that a conversation can be picked up where it left off.

• Records connected to paid lessons or programmes: kept for as long as required by French tax and accounting law, currently ten years.

Under the GDPR, and under comparable laws in other countries, you may ask to: access the information held about you; correct it; delete it; restrict how it is used; object to its use; receive it in a portable format; and withdraw consent you previously gave.

Write to classiccowithmelanie@protonmail.com and your request will be answered within one month. There is no charge. If you believe your information has been mishandled, you may complain to a data protection authority — in France, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or the authority in your own country of residence.

Classicco's lessons, letters and programmes are designed for adults and are not directed to children. Personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 16. If such information has been submitted, please write to the address above and it will be deleted.

Classicco sets no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no tracking pixels, and does not build a profile of your visit. There is no analytics product installed on this website.

Strictly necessary only. Serving the pages requires nothing more than short-lived technical cookies or local storage used by the hosting platform. Your cookie choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage. These are exempt from consent because the site cannot work without them.

Requires your consent. The Calendly booking calendar on the Start here page is third-party content that can set its own cookies. It is therefore not loaded until you agree, either through the cookie banner or by pressing “Load the calendar” on that page. If you decline, the calendar never loads and you can still book by opening Calendly directly in a new tab.

Nothing else third-party is embedded. Fonts are served from this website, and the YouTube and Instagram links only send data to those platforms if you choose to click them. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website, which brings the banner back.

If analytics are added in future, this policy will be updated first and consent will be requested where the law requires it.

Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with the providers listed above using their access controls. No system can be guaranteed absolutely secure, but the amount of information collected is deliberately kept to a minimum.

This policy may be updated as Classicco develops or as the tools used by the website change. The date at the top always shows the latest revision. Significant changes affecting how your information is used will be explained by email to subscribers where appropriate.

This policy describes Classicco's practices in good faith and gives particular attention to the GDPR. It is not legal advice and does not claim compliance with every privacy law in the world.
