A free thirty-minute musical conversation
Before any lesson there is a conversation. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Its purpose is simply to find out whether this way of studying suits you.
What we talk about
- The music you already love, and what you hear in it.
- Any previous experience — including experience that ended badly.
- What you would like to be able to do in a year's time.
- Your instrument at home, and the time you realistically have.
What it is not
- Not an audition, and not a test of your ear or your hands.
- Not a sales call; there is nothing to decide during it.
- No preparation required. You need not play a note.
The journey
Two
A first plan
If we decide to work together, I prepare a starting point: one or two pieces, a listening habit, and a practice shape that fits the week you actually have.
Three
Regular study
Weekly or fortnightly lessons, with written notes after each. Repertoire and musicianship advance together, at a pace you can sustain for years.
